It’s Action time!

This is an exciting time for babies’ caregivers: it’s solid food time! It can get messy but take it easy and savor these moments.

Your baby is becoming more active and physical these days. The quite days of babyhood are gone, and everything is going to be happening faster now. He will be sitting up better and suddenly he will be even sitting by himself, some will start crawling and even standing, but do not freak out if your baby is not doing it. Every child is unique, and they develop in their own way.

Children-no matter their age- learn better through meaningful interactions, and you are your baby’s favorite person. Get on the floor as much as you can and play with him. You can lay out some of his favorite toys to encourage crawling, pulling up to standing, and also promoting fine motor skills.

Sing nursery rhymes, or any song from your own childhood that make you happy, speak to your child in your mother tongue. Dancing is fun, you can dance together while you are singing or while playing a tune he likes, help him dance and follow the beat.

Enjoy baby books together! Encouraging your baby to look, point and touch the images while you read, even exploring with their mouth as tat's hard to avoid at this stage. Read the same books over and over again, even if reading to your baby can seem like a roller coaster ride, keep doing it your child eventually will make the connection between the words he hears and the images in the book, thus you are developing vocabulary AND bonding.
