Let’s roll with it!
Your baby no longer sleeps all day and is more aware of his surroundings and curious about the world. During this stage, your baby will start seeing colors and perceive depth.
Tummy time will not be exciting initially, but with practice and persistence, he will enjoy it. Soon your baby will develop essential motor skills such as head control, sitting with support, rolling over, grasping, and holding objects. Make it fun! Place rattles and toys he loves near them to encourage them to reach them. Babies can be overwhelmed easily, so don’t place too many toys at once and change them when they don’t seem too interested to keep him engaged.
Allow your baby to explore freely. Always within a safe space, provide your baby with toys of different textures, shapes, and sizes, let him touch and feel them. It is through exploration that they learn. He will start putting everything he can reach in his mouth to know more about it, and this is also a sign that the lovely teething time is coming!
Keep responding positively and excited to your baby. Hugh him, kiss him, smile, laugh and talk back when he makes his cute sounds, these will be your first conversations! Describe everything around you when you take him for a walk or inside the house. Sing and dance with him! He will love it! It is never too early to introduce books, make them part of your daily routine.
The more stories you read to your baby, the more words he will hear and the better he'll be able to talk. Hearing words helps to build a rich network of vocabulary in a baby's brain. Kids whose parents talk and read to them often know more words by age 2 than children who have not been read to.
